Bodega Bay Fishing Report Week of 8-20-24
Bodega Bay Fishing Report 8-17-24 From Capt Josh. SATURDAY: Ran north with a group off 5. Flat ocean, but socked in hard. At one point it felt like it rained for a couple hours. Fishing was incredibly slow, due to water temp dropping 4 degrees. Ended with 13 shy of limits. Bodega Bay Fishing Report 8-18-24 From Capt Josh. SUNDAY: Still socked in, but not quite as wet. The fishing also improved with limits of Rockies plus a few for the crew. We bounced up the line all morning finding schools that would only bite on your initial drop, then…

Bodega Bay Fishing Report Week of 7-15-24
Bodega Bay Fishing Report 7-10-24 From Capt Josh. Fished as far north as timber cove and worked my way south Most fish came from 60 to 80 feet of water. They bit great on the smaller madame lures and shrimp flies. 76 mid grade rockfish, plus a couple nice verms, and 5 mid grade lingcod (which are the best eating size for lingcod, in my opinion). Bodega Bay Fishing Report 7-13-24 We headed north with a strong south wind to our back. The fishing grounds have very choppy weather but luckily we had a steady bite of rockfish, we quickly…

Bodega Bay Fishing Report Week of 7-8-24
Bodega Bay Fishing Report 7-3-24 On Wednesday we had sunny skies with balmy air temps in the upper 60s to low 70s and somewhat calm seas out of Bodega Bay. Most of us got to comfortably wear shorts and T shirts, which is a rare occasion. The fishing started out slow, but after checking many spots, we found a group of good blues and olives willing to play. Many fish were caught on the light tackle within the top 20 feet of the water column, making for chaotic action until we had all the fish the group wanted. We released…

Tomales Bay and Bodega Bay Fishing Report Week of 6-30-24
Bodega Bay Fishing Report 6-28-24 Winds remained strong right offshore all week, but we managed to get out there on Friday and look for some rockfish and lingcod. Swell was a bit lumpy, but the wind remained calm and the fog stayed offshore which made for a decently pleasant day besides the rocking and rolling around. We found a terribly slow bite in the morning. After checking many spots we found a group of biters in real shallow at about 11am, and picked up a fast limit of quality blues. We also picked up 4 lingcod for 4 clients, all…

Bodega Bay Fishing Report Information:
Captain Ryan primarily writes these fishing reports when he gets a chance on Sunday or Monday evenings. Sometimes life gets in the way and it gets delayed. But if we leave the dock, whether the fishing’s good or bad, it will end up on this report eventually. Our Fishing reports will include Tomales Bay, Bodega Bay, Fort Bragg, San Francisco Bay and anywhere else we fish. You can expect fishing reports from Bodega Bay and Tomales Bay regularly. These reports are available for most of the summer, fall, and early winter. We continue until we dry dock the boat around Christmas. Currently the only other honest and first hand experience fishing report is from Willy with the Lawsons Landing Report down at Dillion’s Beach. We will also include fishing reports for our personal trips (when we are lucky enough to get them in) and tips and info from friends or other boats when we can get them. We are working on expanding this section of the website and archiving fishing reports out of Bodega Bay for years to come, for clients to get a better understanding of what seasons are best for what species. Overall this report is labeled as the Bodega Bay Fishing Report, but covers a wide variety of reports and information.
