Albacore Tuna Trip (Typically August Through October)
Open Charter- Individual rate: $500 per person. ( 5 people max.)
Private Charter- “Sorta Salty” Entire Boat (max. 6 people, 5 people recommended): $2500
When the Albacore Tuna arrive back to California from their annual migration across the Pacific Ocean, we will email the tuna list some available dates and pricing based on weather, ocean conditions and location of the fish. At that point trips will be book on a first come, first serve basis. Trips will be offered out of Bodega Bay or Fort Bragg. Commonly out of Bodega Bay, we will venture 35 to 75 miles northwest from the harbor so expect long days upward of 12 hours. While Fort Bragg tends to have the warmer currents closer to shore and is usually 15 to 45 miles of travel to the fishing grounds and will result in a day closer to 10+ hours depending on the fishing. Please contact Capt. Ryan if you have any questions.
Bluefin Tuna Trip (Typically July Through November)
Open Charter- Individual rate: $500 per person.
Private Charter- “Sorta Salty” Entire Boat (max. 6 people, 5 people recommended): $2500
Once the Bluefin Tuna arrive from their migration from Northern Baja, we will email everyone on the tuna list some available dates based on weather, ocean conditions and location of the fish in similar fashion as our Albacore trips. We are currently offering two booking options. The first option is available for booking online currently for the month of October. By booking this trip now you will secure your spot on that potential day, but we may not be able to tuna fish if the weather is good enough. If there is a calm weather day within 3 days of your scheduled trip, we may contact you and see if you want that day prior to announcement to the tuna list, but if you are unable to transfer days and your day is too rough for tuna, you will go rock cod fishing at the standard private charter rate of $1800. The second option is the tuna list announcements once the fish arrive. At that point trips will be book on a first come, first serve basis as well for the days that have not been already booked in advanced. For those exclusively interested in tuna fishing, we recommend you pay very close attention to the tuna list announcement’s and our social media pages. Please contact Capt. Ryan if you have any questions.
Early in the season we often drive southwest of Bodega Bay up to 75 miles in search of Bluefin schools scattered west the Farallon islands and the central California seamounts. Those days will be longer and 12 hours of time on the boat can be expected. Later in the season closer to November, Bluefin typically collect near Cordell banks about 18 miles west of Bodega bay feeding on anchovies, expect these days to be closer to 10 or 11 hours on the water, we will often try to leave the dock very early to be able to fish before sunrise, or late and fish the evening bite as that is typically the most effective time using glow in the dark spreader bars. Bluefin will may be quartered at the dock, but is it is highly recommended that the fish rest on packed ice for at least 18 hours to allow the meat to “set up”. Processing with professional vacuum sealing may be offered. Again please contact Capt. Ryan if you have any questions.
Our captains and crew work very hard to catch you fish and provide you with a safe and fun day of fishing. Any gratuities at the end of the day are greatly appreciated. (A gratuity of 10-20% of your trip total is customary)
