Description

The California Chinook salmon harvesting season traditionally runs from May through October, although it has been canceled for 2023 by CDFW and the Pacific Fishery Management Council to help protect the Chinook salmon population born in and migrated from the Sacramento River. The Chinook salmon is the largest and most valuable species of Pacific salmon in North America, as well as the largest in the genus Oncorhynchus. Other vernacular names for the species include king salmon. We typically experience peak Salmon fishing in Bodega Bay around mid to late July.
