San Francisco Bay Fishing Report 5-9-25
Well the wind is back, and here to stay for another week or two. We haven’t been posting much since we haven’t been fishing much due to wind. The halibut bite in the bay remains ok, about a fish per person average, a few boats have been running occasionally and I was hoping we would be able to get a few more trips but the demand for halibut trips has been down a little compared to the past few years. The fish are defiantly not around like they were last year, but that can change and we still have time for the bite to improve. Based on a few buddies that made quick morning trips out early in the month, the lingcod around bodega have been in very high numbers this year so its not all bad. I expect Bodega to have some great fishing once the wind backs off. The way its looking we might not be able to run a single rockfish trip for the whole month of may due to wind, its been brutal to say the least. Finger crossed for a calm June with a lot of fishing action.

Capt Josh fished the North Bay near red rock last week and hauled up pretty some nice halibut, 4 big fish for 3 clients with a handful of stripers on top. Sounds like this has been the average all week, about a fish per person with some better days every now and then.
