Bodega Bay Fishing Report Week of 4-20-25
Fishing this week was decent with good rockfish coming in but a slower bite on the lings. Lots of wind keeping trips limited as normal for april with only 2 trips last week. As I type this Capt. Josh is reporting a pretty good bite in the bay today so expect things to improve this week for both bay halibut and offshore lings as they typically feed on similar moon and tide patterns.
Bodega Bay Offshore Rockfish 4-17-25
On Thursday we headed offshore with a smaller group of 4 due to a cancellation, swells were large but the wind was calm in the morning making for decent weather. Sandabs bit slower, but the rockfish were wide open. We quickly limited on good rockfish with verms, canaries and yellows in a few drifts in deeper water and started working on lings. We scratched out 4 big lings and lost several more. Overall a slow day on lingcod but the big rockfish made up for it.

Bodega Bay Offshore Fishing Report 4-18-25
On friday we headed north with a flat ocean and fished the football for my personal favorite chillipepper rockfish. We found a wide open bite in 500 feet of water and had the fish biting about 350 feet down. Wide open bite and we quickly put 80 jumbo chilli with 2 good lings into the boat and the group opted to go home early. Epic day and lots of fillets one of the best eating fish in the ocean for everyone.
