Bodega Bay- 6/30/25

After Josh’s pretty good weekend, I had high hopes of limits of lingcod and rockfish by lunchtime. We headed north with decent weather and instantly found a pretty good rockfish bite, but ended up making a few moves up the coast to find better-sized blues and blacks in 15 to 30 feet of water. They bit anything in the water: swimbaits, jigs, flies, and even some bare hooks within seconds. We had our fun and switched over to ling after about 2 hours, put 6 nice ones in the boat in 40 minutes, and probably had twice as many bite that got off. Before noon, we had one person who was a bit sick, and our group decided they had all the fish they could handle, so we headed home pretty early. Epic day with a fun group and non-stop action from start to finish.
